Why I love filming at Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club
I've been filming weddings at Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club since 2025, and it immediately became one of the most visually distinctive venues I work in. The restored architecture, exposed brick, stained glass, balconies, gallery spaces, and main stage make the day feel connected to Portsmouth while still being completely its own.
I genuinely enjoy working with the Jimmy's team. They are welcoming, detail-oriented, and clearly care about both the guest experience and the atmosphere in the room. Their experience with live events also makes communication around lighting, sound, entrances, and formalities especially smooth for video.
After filming celebrations that used the building in different ways, I know how to work with the dramatic stage lighting, protect the feeling of the ceremony, and capture the energy of the room without turning the wedding into a production.
